What is a Seed Library?
How it Works
-
Choose up to 6 pre-filled seed packets of to take home. Seeds are sorted by type (flowers, herbs, vegetables, etc) and then alphabetically by plant.
-
Complete a Checkout Form so that we know what you've borrowed and drop into the bin labeled "Checkout Forms."
-
Take your seeds home and plant them! See below for further resources to help you throughout the growing process.
-
Optionally, save some seeds at the end of the growing season. Return some of the seeds from your best plants for others to borrow and/or any extras that you didn't plant. Fill out a Return Form and place seeds & form in the bin labeled "Returns/Donations."
A seed library is a collection of seeds that can be "borrowed" by community members to grow at home and "returned" from successfully grown plants. It's a low stakes way to try your hand at gardening and to share seeds with members of the community.

We are excited to offer a Seed Library here in partnership with our friends at the Henrietta Garden Club! Come check it out on the second floor of the library at the beginning of the Adult Nonfiction section.
