Summer Reading Programs @ HPL

June 25, 2014 at 9:59 AM

Today’s the day! Summer Reading Program Registration at Henrietta Public Library begins June 25! And we have programs for all ages!

Summer is a great time to read – out on the deck, when you’re traveling, while the kids take swimming lessons, as a family before bedtime… Just about any time and place is great for reading!

Our summer reading programs are helpful for motivating kids to keep reading when school is out – they choose the books they’re going to read, read for at least 15 minutes a day, and get fun prizes to add to the fun of reading. This year’s theme for the children is Fizz Boom Read! We like to encourage interest in reading in even the youngest ones, so be sure to pick up an early literacy activity chart you can do with your pre-readers!

Teens choose the books they’ll read and complete cool activities for a chance to receive prizes. The theme for teens this summer is Spark a Reaction!

Adults write book reviews for the books they read and enter a drawing to win a book. You might like to try a few new authors this summer.

Come to the library any time we’re open to sign up for summer reading programs - and have fun reading with us this summer! Reading is one of the best parts of summer!

Library hours: Monday-Thursday 10 am-9 pm; Friday 12-5 pm; Saturday 10 am-5 pm
