New iPad in the Children's Area
The children’s area has a new iPad for parents and kids to use together when they visit the library. Children’s librarian Anne Hicks says, “An iPad can be a great early literacy tool and a catalyst for child and caregiver engagement. This will be a wonderful opportunity for kids and their caregivers to play with and learn from an increasingly prevalent form of technology.” Hicks, a contributor to Little eLit (littleelit.com), has loaded the iPad with fun, age-appropriate apps and ebooks that support literacy development. The iPad comes to the library thanks in part to a recent bequest from the estate of Leaf Drake, an active community member, library user, and reader.
