More Characters than Twitter: Meet Adrienne Leah Furness!
As the director of the Henrietta Public Library, Adrienne is the Khaleesi of The Great Litera Sea, Maker of Brains, and Mother of Librarians. Before starting here as our Queen four years ago, Adrienne worked as the children’s librarian at the Webster branch. She has a BA in English Literature, and a Master’s in Library Science. Literature has been the center of her world from a very young age. By the age of four, she had already fallen in love with Edgar Allan Poe and fawned over his poem, “The Bells”. In her adult-life, she participated on the Caldecott Medal Selection Committee for 2015 where she and many of the other committee members got tattoos to honor the special occasion! When not ruling the library with a benevolent fist, she is often reading, doodling, or plotting the invasion of Westeros.
