In January, we welcomed new library board member Sharon McCullough. Sharon grew up in various towns southwest of Rochester, including Wheatland, Caledonia and LeRoy. She fondly remembers visiting her local libraries and the Henrietta Public Library as a child. Some of her childhood favorites include the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, Dogsbody by Diana Wynne Jones, and the Emily of New Moon series by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
Sharon started working in Henrietta in 1994 and eventually moved to Henrietta in 2003. She now works at the University of Rochester as an administrator in higher education.
Sharon’s hobbies include learning, reading, gardening, reading about gardening, her dog, reading about dogs, Buddhist psychology, reading Buddhist psychology, listening to audio books, managing her goodreads account, and hanging out at the library with her fellow trustees.
Sharon received her Associates Degree from Genesee Community College, her Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Brockport, and her Master of Business Administration from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester. She is currently working towards her Doctor of Education at the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester.
Sharon has been working with the library for some time as a supporter as well as a volunteer on our building and foundation advisory committees, and we're so glad to have her as a member of our Board of Trustees!
