Introduction to Mindful Eating
Mealtimes can be busy, rushed affairs but taking some time to enjoy your food in a quiet space has been proven to aid in digestion and prevent overeating. Mindful eating is simply the act of staying present during meals. In this class, we will take an in-depth look at the practice and learn how mindful eating can benefit our lives emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Attendees will also receive a mindful eating exercise to practice at home. Event held Thursday, May 14 from 7-8 pm. Please register. Participants will receive an email with instructions to log into the program the evening before the event. We will be using Zoom, a free web meeting platform.
About our presenter: Ali Lawrence is the founder and owner of Spirit and Abundance LLC. She is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, where she studied Baking and Pastry, and Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. Even after all that schooling, Ali found that she was more disconnected from food than ever. After years of struggling with her weight and self-image, she found herself hungry not only for satiating and healthy food, but to reconnect with where her food came from. Ali is a devout tea lover, spiritual seeker, and foodie.
