“I’m Writing It Down to Remember It Now”

December 12, 2015 at 12:00 PM

I’m one of those people who likes to have a notebook with her at all times in case I hear, see, or think of something I want to write down. My notebook of choice used to be Moleskine Reporter Notebooks, but recently (thanks to an episode of WTF with Marc Maron, I’ve converted to Field Notes memo books. Designer Aaron Draplin modeled these notebooks after ones he saw farmers using when he was growing up in the Midwest. They’re compact and light but sturdy, so they stand up to life in my purse without weighing me down. The design is straightforward and functional but includes sly details. (A list of “Practical Applications” on the back cover includes “Escape Routes” and “Loose Promises.”) Great for yourself or for gift giving. –Adrienne Furness, Director
