Getting Your Personal Finances in Order

May 12, 2017 at 9:00 PM

I'm a big fan of keeping my financials organized so that I don't have to worry about them and can instead focus on more fun things like my son! In the process of trying to organize my finances, I decided that I wanted to get rid of as much paper clutter as possible and try and keep everything in one spot. Also very important, is that it needed to be cheap, or even better, free. I stumbled upon the website Mint. Mint changed how I look at money. It's easy to use, and you and can attach all your accounts so that you can see an overview of all your debts, investments, bills, and so on. It has a budget tool where you can set up your monthly budget and you can set it up so that Mint emails you when you are close to your limit for the month. You can also set up goals, like paying off a credit card, buying a house, or saving for a baby and Mint will figure out how much you need to save a month to meet your goal. The website is very user friendly with bright graphics and easy-to-use interface. - Emily Kleykamp, Teen Clerk and master of living on a small budget
