Build a Wardrobe You Will Actually Use and Love

April 22, 2017 at 9:00 PM

Since having my son, I’ve been going through my whole closet and realizing I have nothing to wear. In an effort to redo my wardrobe, I stumbled upon the idea of a capsule wardrobe. The idea is to have a core set of basic clothing pieces that will last several years, is adaptable for different seasons and trends, and can then be augmented with a few seasonal and trendy pieces. So, in my quest to create the perfect capsule wardrobe, I discovered the book, The Curated Closet, by Anuschka Rees. The main reason I fell in love with this book was that the author introduced me to the idea of fitting my wardrobe to my lifestyle, instead of trying to buy wardrobe must-haves which then sit in the back of my closet gathering dust. After going through this book, I can now actually get dressed in under five minutes, in the dark, while my son sleeps in the crib next to me, and still manage to look put-together. Win-win. – Emily Kleykamp, Teen Services Clerk with a passion for fashion
