A plethora of new audio-visual materials have finally hit the shelves at the Henrietta Public Library after a drought in arrivals from one vendor. We have many of the new DVD releases including Doubt, Last Chance Harvey, Australia, Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Bride Wars, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Rachel Getting Married, Taken, Twilight and W. Many of the new releases will have reserve lists so you may want to place a hold for the item. A hold only costs fifty cents – better than the “Red Box” and then you get to borrow the DVD for a week!

New audiobooks on compact disc include the newest in the Women’s Murder Club, 8th Confession by James Patterson. Once again Det. Lindsay Boxer and her crime solving friends investigate two murders; one of which may compromise a romance and trust among friends. We also own Mary Higgins Clark’s newest bestseller, Just Take My Heart, which holds the reader in the throes of suspense with a legal thriller of a man accused of killing his wife. The real medical phenomenon plays an essential part of the plot with Clark’s usual plot twists.  Michael Connelly’s newest title, The Scarecrow, won rave reviews by professional audiobook reviewers as well as one of our regular patrons just today! My patron said it was the best Connelly thriller yet – and she’s read them all! Another new audiobook is Censoring: an Iranian Love Story: a Novel by Shahriar Mandanipour. Shahriar, an Iranian writer decides to pen a tragic love story set in present day Iran. The writer’s characters are imperiled just as his writing is imperiled by censorship.
