Library Cards

Library card applications are available at the library. There is no charge for a library card, but you must show some proof of Monroe County residency in order to receive a free card.

By signing your card, or that of your minor child, you have agreed to be responsible for the material borrowed on the card. Damaged or lost materials will be charged at the replacement cost plus a processing fee. You also agree to abide by the rules of all members in the Monroe County Library System. The MonroeCounty Library System refers accounts owing over $35 in fines or non-returned materials to a collection agency.

Children age 5 through 17 need a parent's or guardian's signature on a registration card.

Since New York State Law protects the confidentiality of library patron records, we recommend that patrons use their own cards exclusively.

For your protection, a missing or stolen card should be reported immediately.

If fines or charges exceed $5.00, borrowing privileges will be suspended.

As the holder of a card from the Henrietta Public Library, you may borrow materials from any public library in the Monroe County Library System.

Patrons who reside outside of MonroeCounty may apply to MCLS and pay $30 for a library card with all benefits identical to those who live inside MonroeCounty
